Call Receiver Information Sheet
Please read this page completely. If you determine you still wish

Valley Com’s testing requires that you successfully complete
each individual phase of the testing process in order to continue
on. If you do not pass the multitask test, the written test or video
test you may retest after 90 days. None of the skills tests will
be given more than 3 times.
The testing process consists of:

IMPORTANT: EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2003 a typing certificate
from a school or employment agency will be required before the
Valley Communications Center testing process is scheduled. The
certificate must state that the applicant typed at least 40
net words per minute. The certificate must not be more than
a year old.

A multitasking audio test.

A written test, which is a timed test.

A video based skills test.

Preliminary interview.

A psychological examination.

An extensive background investigation, including a computerized
voice stress analysis (CVSA)

If the above steps are successfully completed the applicant
may be invited to an interview.

If the candidate is offered a position they will then have
a physical examination and drug test. If for any reason the
applicant fails the physical examination or drug test the job
offer will be withdrawn.
Testing Process Time Line
To successfully complete each step in the process may take several
months.
Application Requirements
Monthly Pay Scale for Call Receivers and Dispatchers
Call Receivers: $3,424.77 - $4,091.47
Dispatchers: $4,103.72 - $4,772.65
Insurance
Presently medical coverage is offered through either Regence Health
Care or Group Health; Dental Coverage is offered through Washington
Dental Service and Vision Care through VSP.
Training
An initial training period of approximately 8-10 weeks will be
provided.
Failure to pass tests at 80% during initial training class will
result in termination from the program. Testing and evaluations
will be done on a regularly scheduled basis.
